Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

When I returned from a trip from Mexico i was waiting to meet my family but also to eat something like a burger, pizza or chicken. When I arrived in Atlanta my family and I went out to eat to a restaurant, once there I ordered a steak with Mash potatoes and Mac n cheese and another dish with chicken tenders about 4-5 with a side of broccoli. I ordered a bunch as I missed the food from the US and I did finish it all and still remember that day as the most I’ve ever eaten and enjoyed.

As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them

A classmate in one of my classes which I was partnered with suddenly was being shy even though I thought of them being serious and not wanting to participate in discussions but even though they were shy they were being actually nice and I was surprised so returned the favor by complementing them and they reacted unexpectedly that I didn’t even think would happen. From this moment I saw them as a nice person instead of a serious one.

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.

I don’t really have a specific person who influences me to have a positive vibes just as my friends and family are having a good time that’s all it would make feel nice and from them being happy it shows me even though most of us are going through a lot those moments make happy and forget the bad and seeing this everyday helps me keep going but if they aren’t feeling great I return the favor and try to be funny or help them in a way.

Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

I was highlighting the most important parts of the letter and not just everything as to show what is really going on in the letter to the class. I was trying to show off a darkish painful mood in the video showing how Mr.__ is tired and Celie is being stressed and exhausted from being the only one doing the work while Mr.___ is doing nothing also showing unfairness.

At the end of Letter 21, Celie and Sofia share a rare moment of laughter that softens the tension between them. Write about a time when you and a sibling or family member shared an unexpected moment of joy after things had been tense or confusing. Explain how that moment helped bring you closer.

One time me and my sister got into an argument where I cursed at her due to her making me mad on purpose as she was calling me names and some were based on my appearance my mom got mad at both of us and said we shouldn’t be like this towards each other then later in the afternoon we decided to watch YouTube to get over the fact we argued like that earlier in the day and then everything was fine and me and her are on good terms.

Celie tells Harpo to “beat” Sofia because she believes that’s how men control women, but this advice causes pain and conflict. Think about a time when someone gave you advice that sounded right at first but ended up being wrong. How did it affect your situation or relationships? What lesson did you learn about thinking for yourself?

Someone told me to speak my mind and said it out loud during a disagreement in order for them to listen but they didn’t listen and continued to argue with me and left the conversation as they would not listen and I learned that advice will not work but it does it will not give you the outcome you want.

Letters 11–16 show how relationships can be full of misunderstanding and pressure. Harpo wants love, but he also wants power. Sofia wants freedom, not control. Reflect on a time when someone’s desire for control hurt a friendship or relationship. What advice would you give to Harpo or Sofia if you could?

A time this happened in real life is when someone tried to control what I did and how I acted and then I distanced myself from them as it wasn’t a trusted relationship but a controlled one. Advice for Sofia would be that she needs to keep her strength and tell her relationships need trust and respect from both sides.

Prompt: In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

I usually get inspired by mom as she was at the beginning of my life the only one to raise me and only one I looked up to. She told me how to act and not to misbehave and when I was with my dad he told me to be kind to others as his family is too towards me so I thought let me do the same with people. I have a mix of both from my mom and dad be nice and don’t act rude

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

When reading the first 5 letters of The Color purple it only took the first letter to lay the foundation of how the book is going be and I was surprised on how the first page of a book already starts violent and traumatic for the main character which again surprised me as many books don't start off like that but instead slowly show the problems of that book but already this book is different with its begining page and my reaction in my head is "okayyy, what a start already".
