Write about what you are thankful for 11/22/24

I'm thankful for my family being there when I needed them when I was stressed in school and at home, helping me through the deep depression I had over the last few months and trying to help my sleeping problems as they all did their best and I am thankful for that as I may have not behaved well this year though I'm still grateful for their help. In class we did two assessments one in particular being about Robert Frost and his poems and answering the best we can to the questions about the poems. Knowing the poems we have been going over in class gave me some thought on what messages poems are trying to convey and there true meaning while reading them.

Nov 12- Write about a feeling that took you by surprise

A feeling that took me by surprise was a time when I realized that I almost got kidnapped. It was a morning, and my aunt was taking care of me while my mom went to get breakfast for the three of us, I was the only one awake and went to watch Tv until I heard a loud crash in the balcony and from the living room and I saw through the window that someone was trying to break in but failed to open the door. I was scared and ran to my aunt waking her up and around the same time my mom came home, and I told her what happened, afterwards we moved from there but as I grew older, I didn't realize something bad might've happened to me. In class we read the poem " Out, out" the poem is the story of a young boy working with a buzz saw and his sister calls him for supper. Suddenly, the saw cuts off his hand and calls for help but it was too late for him and passed away. The poem told us to focus on any dangerous tasks or work you have as an accident can happen which can lead to so...

Nov 11th - Describe a time when you felt completely lost

A time when I felt completely lost was on my first day of middle school. Everything was unfamiliar, and I couldn’t find my way around and I felt anxious and confused as I didn't know anybody as I changed schools. I was lost for the first days of school until a student talked to me and open to me to other people and mad me social more. Today in class we finished up the One pager for the story "The Ambush" and once when were done we were given a vocabulary sheet for lesson 6 and learned the vocab words. The one pager gave me ideas on how to summarize an entire story on one page by summarizing the story, making a personal connection to the story, and asking questions and answering them.

Friday Nov 8th, 24- Prompt title: Write about a place you never wanted to leave.

Response: My old apartment as in that apartment complex I lived there for 10 years making it really difficult for me to leave as i was raised here as baby up until I was 10 but I understood why we had to move as the main problem was that we got robbed twice in two different buildings and they tried to come back for a 3rd time but they didn't get in due to my mom boarding up the window and backdoor with wood which saved my life when they came back for 3rd time but it was dangerous to live there so we moved to a more secure apartment complex.  Summary: Today in class we started our one pager on the story The Ambush by Tim 0' Brien and our as assignment is to put information about the story on the page. Reflect: The Ambush story can relate to you in a certain point in your life as someone can ask you a question that can bring negative memories in that point in your life making it difficult to speak about the question they brought up.
